Six Steps to Online Success
Ok so you’ve paid your fees and you have your first website. Now what do you do?
Well ok, you already know, advertise, but do you know how? If you’re like most people just starting out, this is the hardest part to understand and master. It was for me. Ok, where do you start?
The first thing you want to know is about rankings. Let’s start with what I call the big 3, Google, Yahoo and MSN. With online marketing like offline marketing the key is exposure. In offline marketing, the top companies spend most of their advertising capital on television commercials with another big 3, ABC, NBC and CBS. Sure they aren’t the only game in town but they are the biggest and get the most viewers. Then companies bid for the best prime time slots for their commercials to air. Pretty simple right? Sure if you got the really big bucks.
So how do we get the prime time slots on our big 3, Google, Yahoo and MSN without spending a fortune? Ah, I’m glad you asked. Well one way is to buy yourself to the top but most of us can’t afford that. Another is content, tons of content, and it better be good relevant content or no cigar. Buy leads you say! Okay. But now I’m broke and still am not getting any sales. I stink! Ok, that’s enough. I’ll let you off the hook. I went thru every bit of that and more before I learned there’s a better way to get to the top and it didn’t cost a dime.
